Virgininia Dube-Mawerewere
Virgininia Mawerewere(nee Dube) is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, College of Health Sciences since 2016. She started at Mnene Mission Hospital as a General Nurse in 1998. Her professional career includes positions of Clinical Instructor, Tutor and Principal Tutor.
Virgininia has her Diploma in Nursing from St Annes Brunapeg School of Nursing. She has her Bachelors of Science Nursing Science from Zimbabwe Open University; she has her Master of Science Nursing Science from the University of Zimbabwe. She obtained a Doctorate from the University of South Africa. She is a member of the Mental Health Tribunal and Nurses Council of Zimbabwe. She did groundbreaking research in forensic psychiatry where she developed a Medico-Judicial Framework for forensic psychiatric patients in Zimbabwe. Virgininia is the first nurse to hold a PhD in Mental Health / Psychiatry in Zimbabwe. She has various publications focusing on Mental Health / Psychiatry.
