In 2016 we started a journal club at University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences Department of Psychiatry. Participants in the journal club met on a regular basis to discuss important articles in global mental health and how these concepts apply to Zimbabwe. Health professionals were able to obtain continuing professional development (CPD) points for attendance.
Since then, we have had meetings on a less formal basis. We have put together a syllabus of critical studies in global mental health, as a starting point for anyone seeking foundational work in this field.
